Join us on Saturday, June 20, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church at 3864 Flad, St. Louis, MO 63110, for a special Afghan Welcome Neighbor STL Supper Club celebrating World Refugee Day and supporting refugee families in St. Louis.

Spend the evening enjoying authentic Afghan cuisine, meaningful conversations, and the opportunity to connect with friends, neighbors, and members of our refugee community. Through food, culture, and storytelling, this event creates a welcoming space for cultural exchange and community connection.

The Supper Club gives Welcome Neighbor refugee families the opportunity to share their traditions, talents, and personal stories while building relationships and growing confidence in their new lives in the United States. Proceeds from these events help support families on their journey toward greater independence and stability.

Guests will also have the opportunity to shop at a small market featuring handmade items and crafts created by refugee families.

Dinner tickets will be available during checkout, including an Adult Menu and a Child Menu.

The Afghan Adult menu is $40 per person and contains:

BOLANI — A popular Afghan street food and crowd favorite. Thin flatbread made from unleavened dough, stuffed and pan-fried with flavorful fillings such as mashed potatoes, lentils, leeks, chives, or pumpkin.

KABULI POLAW — Fragrant basmati rice cooked with onion, saffron, black pepper, cardamom, coriander, and cumin, then topped with raisins, nuts, and julienned carrots.

MANTU (Afghan Dumplings) — Traditional Afghan dumplings filled with lentils, tomatoes, onion, beef, coriander, and cumin, topped with yogurt and tomato sauce.

ASHAK — Fresh pasta filled with scallions, leeks, and cilantro, served with a yogurt garlic sauce and seasoned with coriander, turmeric, cayenne pepper, and mint.

GOSH E-FIL — Also known as “Elephant’s Ear,” this sweet fried pastry is made with flour, milk, eggs, and sugar, then topped with powdered cardamom, icing sugar, and crushed pistachios.

The Afghan Child menu is $20 per person and contains:

At the checkout, you may also choose to support our Unhoused Meal Program. Every other Friday, our chefs prepare and serve free meals to 100 unhoused individuals at the Peter & Paul Community Campus. Donations help cover the cost of groceries, cooking supplies, and other materials needed for the program.
