April 23 marks International Day of the Book! Join host Stephanie Colvin-Santrač in celebration by supporting a local non-profit that amplifies youth voices across our city.

Reach, Incorporated is dedicated to developing grade-level readers and capable leaders in Wards 4-8. Since its founding in April 2009, Reach has served the unique role of preparing high school teens to serve as tutors and role models for elementary students, thereby improving literacy outcomes for both groups. By engaging teens as leaders in a non-traditional tutoring environment, Reach closes reading gaps and fosters essential leadership skills among participants. To date, Reach has worked with 73 young authors and published 36 stories, with 23,000 of these books in circulation, not only in DC but around the world.

Now more than ever, Reach's work matters, whether that is amplifying the voices of teen authors or ensuring DC students have the necessary tools to become confident readers, writers, and engaged citizens.
