What We’re Up Against

Black LGBTQ+ people continue to live at the intersection of racism, homophobia, transphobia, and systemic neglect.

We are disproportionately affected by mental health challenges, isolation, and invisibility in both mainstream media and LGBTQ+ spaces. Access to culturally competent care and affirming creative outlets remains limited—especially for our youth and elders.

Without safe, accessible spaces to heal and create, too many of us are left unseen, unheard, and unsupported.

Meet Black Alphabet

We are a nonprofit that uses film, art, and media to affirm and empower Black LGBTQ+ lives. From our international film festival to free therapy sessions, cultural programming, and healing-centered art workshops, we’ve helped thousands find voice, joy, and belonging.
