As the nation’s oldest and largest Asian American civil rights organization, founded in 1929, the Japanese American Citizens League (JACL) strives to uphold the civil rights of all Americans and to promote diversity through respecting values of fairness, equality, and social justice.
After a nearly three-year hiatus, the JACL Honolulu Chapter will be holding our 2022 Distinguished Service Award Dinner on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at the Oahu Country Club Nuuanu Ballroom. Registration will begin at 5:30 p.m., and dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m.
This year, the JACL Honolulu Chapter will be honoring the following local and national leaders who were responsible for successfully securing redress for the Hawaii-based Japanese who were unlawfully evacuated and interned during World War II:
