JBS After Dark: Pop-up Owl Prowl

We'll spend 20 minutes learning about these mysterious and amazing nocturnal birds of prey before heading out to search and listen for them. Be prepared to walk over gravel and uneven surfaces and bring your binoculars (we do have a few pairs to lend). Photography without flash is permitted. We'll be using payback of the barred owl's audio calls but will not be using other owl calls due to ethical concerns about attracting prey owls.

All participants must be comfortable walking outside in wooded areas without lights and be able to remain silent during periods of the program.

While we can't promise you'll hear or see owls (wildlife doesn't always cooperate!), we can promise you'll enjoy the special experience of JBS after dark and leave knowing more about owls.

When: Thursday, May 7

Time: 7:30-9 p.m.

Cost: $15 per person

Age Limit: 12 & up

Schedule:

7:30 p.m. Program begins. Please arrive on time.
7:30-7:50 p.m. Owl presentation.
7:55-8:45 p.m. Owl prowl. *Once the group leaves the Wetland Center, doors will be locked and staff will be facilitating the program.
8:45-9 p.m. Head back to the Wetland Center.
9 p.m. Program ends.

Our Program Refund Policy

If we must cancel the program, you will receive a full refund. If we must reschedule the program, you will be offered the choice of attending on the new date or receiving a full refund. If you cancel attending the program on the original date, no refund will be issued.
