For us, "Justice For All" isn't just a tagline. It's a fundamental part of who we are as an organization.

In the last year, Hiscock Legal Aid Society (HLA) handled more than 8,600 total cases, impacting nearly 14,000 people.

This includes more than 1,300 housing cases (landlord/tenant and foreclosure), nearly 5,000 family law cases, more than 1,500 immigration cases, and more than 800 Appeals/Parole cases.

Each of these numbers represents a person. A person who has gotten a second chance like Willie or a person who's needed help escaping an abusive relationship like Robin.

In addition to our main programs, HLA Special Projects include:

- The Afghan Refugees Project which helps evacuees from Afghanistan who have been resettled in CNY as part of Operation Allies Welcome; assisting with asylum and Temporary Protected Status applications

- The Domestic Violence Survivors Justice Act supports domestic violence survivors who suffered sexual, psychological or physical abuse that contributed to their conviction obtain resentencing.
