Our Story: Lighting the Way to Healing and Hope

At Y12, we believe that healing from addiction and trauma isn’t just possible, it’s sacred. It’s our birthright. For over a decade, we’ve been weaving together ancient wisdom, modern science, embodied practice, and community care to support people in remembering who they are - whole, worthy, and free.

Founded by Nikki Myers, a yoga and somatic therapist, recovering addict, and visionary leader, Y12 emerged from lived experience and deep study. What started as one woman’s journey to heal has become a shared commitment to recovery, connection, and community care. With over 2,100 active Peer Support Guides and healing circles throughout the U.S. and abroad, Y12 brings accessible tools for resilience, integration, and belonging to people and communities often left out of conventional recovery spaces.

But Y12 has never been just about individual healing. From the beginning, it has recognized that addiction is rooted in disconnection—not only from self, but from community, from the Earth, and from Spirit. That’s why Y12 is committed to healing the whole, supporting the transformation of individuals, families, and systems alike. At its core, Y12 is a movement for collective healing grounded in the understanding that our liberation is linked, and that we heal more deeply when we heal together.

Now, as we officially launch as an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we’re stepping into our next evolution.

Our “Dawn of a New Era” campaign aims to raise $500,000 by December 31, 2026—fueling:

Access: scholarships for leaders serving historically underserved and under-resourced communities
Reach: expansion into spaces where healing resources are limited or unavailable
Infrastructure: building the systems needed to scale our impact and deepen connection
Sustainability: hiring our first Executive Director to guide and grow this vital work

This is more than a fundraiser. It’s an invitation to invest in collective healing rooted in compassion, equity, and the deep knowing that healing from addiction, trauma and the wounds of disconnection belong to all of us.
