Activist and nationally bestselling author Julissa Arce's new book, You Sound Like a White Girl: The Case for Rejecting Assimilation is the kind of book that will lift the history, heritage, and culture of our people. It is a book that needs to be in the hands of every Latino high school student, especially as efforts to ban Latino studies, and Critical Race Theory, pick up steam.

Our goal is to grow the choir of people who believe that Latinos belong in America. This is where you come in to become a "Madrina or Padrino" to get this important book into the hands of Black and Brown girls of the LA Promise Fund program. For the past seven years, GirlsBuild has empowered more than 50,000 underserved girls. They instill within these bright girls the passion to reach their dreams by uplifting them to believe in their dreams and I know Julissa’s book can help them on their journey. You can pledge 25, 50, 100, or more books to these schools.
