Because Not Everyone Gets to Ring the Bell

In oncology units across the country, ringing the bell often marks the end of treatment.
But for some veterans, cancer doesn’t follow a clean timeline.

Some continue treatment long after infusions or radiation end.
Some transition into surveillance, maintenance therapy, or lifelong care.
Some never get a clear “last day.”
And some never get the opportunity to ring the bell at all.

At Veteran Cancer Network, we believe those veterans still deserve to be seen.

That’s why we created Just Ring the Bell — a small, personal bell meant to honor the quiet victories that happen every day during cancer treatment. Not the finish line. The endurance.

Each bell is accompanied by a short card that explains its meaning:
that survival isn’t always about milestones — sometimes it’s about making it through today.

Through this campaign, we place these bells directly into chemotherapy and radiation units so veterans can receive acknowledgment during treatment — not just at the end of it.
