Too many of our neighbors are hurting. And often, the legal systems that should protect them do not. That's why I went to law school at age 40 and have worked in Legal Aid ever since. VPLC makes the law better for our most vulnerable neighbors in important, impactful ways.
My work at VPLC is focused on helping renters avoid eviction and navigate the court process. Because there will never be enough Legal Aid lawyers to represent more than a fraction of renters facing eviction, effective self-help tools are critical. We are working to develop and refine tools so renters can get a fair shake in court on their own.
