After witnessing Mr. Hardy’s bold act of shaving his beard & mustache live at the San Marcos Rotary meeting today to raise awareness for CASA, tekRESCUE in San Marcos, has stepped up in a big way! They’ve pledged a $1,500 matching donation to help Mr. Hardy cross another finish line and goal of hitting a $10,000 goal by Monday which happens to be Central Texas recognition of Adoption Day!

That means every dollar you give — up to $1,500 — will be matched dollar-for-dollar. Your $25 becomes $50. Your $100 becomes $200. And together, we can make double the difference for children in foster care. He has already raised $7,290, surpassing the original $5,000 goal. With this new match, we have the chance to do even more. Every gift helps CASA recruit and support volunteers who stand up for children when they need it most.

CASA recruits, trains, and supports volunteer advocates to speak on behalf of children who have experienced abuse or neglect. As part of a nationwide network of over 900 chapters, CASA of Central Texas has been serving Caldwell, Comal, Guadalupe, and Hays counties since 1985.

CASA volunteers serve as Guardians ad Litem, representing the best interests of children in court. They:

Act as factfinders for the judge.
Lift the voice of the child in court.
Monitor the case to ensure the child’s needs are met and the case is resolved swiftly and appropriately.
