For 33 years, Nia Cultural Center has served as a beacon of freedom, learning, and cultural pride in Galveston—the birthplace of Juneteenth. Through youth programs, art exhibits, and cultural celebrations like Juneteenth and Kwanzaa, Nia continues to nurture community connections and keep the light of empowerment bright.

This December, we’re inviting friends, family, and supporters to help us raise $8,000 by December 31 to sustain our programs and expand our impact in 2026. Every contribution helps preserve and share our community’s story.

• $18.65 – Juneteenth Freedom Gift (honoring 1865)

• $19.92 – Founders Gift (honoring the year Nia was established)

• $33 – Anniversary Gift (celebrating 33 years of impact)

• $100 – Freedom Builder Gift (creating a lasting legacy)

This campaign begins on Giving Tuesday, December 2—with a goal of raising $2,500 in the first 24 hours—and continues through December 31. Each donation, no matter the size, helps us reach our financial goal and engage 120 donors who believe in Nia’s mission.
