Foothold's Safe Shelter in Kenya will be a place for children and youth who are at risk of, or recovering from, exploitation, abuse, trafficking, and unsafe home situations.

For many vulnerable girls, safety is not just about having a roof overhead. It means having a place where they are protected, known, cared for, and given the chance to heal. This shelter will provide a safe, trauma-informed environment where children can receive consistent care, counseling support, education, and the stability they need to begin rebuilding their lives.

Foothold’s work in Kenya has always focused on prevention through education, clean water, hygiene, and community support. But we also know that some children need immediate rescue, protection, and long-term healing. The Safe Shelter Fund helps us take the next step: creating a place where safety, dignity, and hope can be restored.
