Do you work with or care for someone living with dementia? If so, this event is for you!

We will have education sessions, resource exhibitors and time for networking with other caregivers.

Join us in person, at Vance Granville Community College Civic Center, Henderson NC, for a full-day dementia caregiver conference featuring North Carolina's own Teepa Snow.

This conference will help you better understand what dementia is, how it affects the brain, and how to better assist those living with any dementia-causing condition. Arrive at 8:00 am for breakfast and stay through 4:30 pm for an interactive day full of education, fun, and resources!

During this conference, you will learn ways to help with interactions, care, and daily engagement. You will develop verbal and non-verbal skills to improve communication, help with behavioral challenges, reduce resistance and increase participation. Teepa will demonstrate cues people living with dementia use to indicate what they need and approaches to help meet those needs using their remaining skills.

Arrive at 8:00 am in time to check in, enjoy breakfast, and visit our resource exhibitors
Dress in layers as the temperatures will vary in the Civic Center throughout the day
Be prepared for an interactive presentation where you will be challenged to put yourself into the shoes of someone living with dementia in order to understand what they need and how they see and experience the world

With a background in occupational therapy and vast experience in adult learning styles, Teepa helps all of us build hands-on skills we can use immediately to create a positive and caring environment for everyone impacted by dementia.
