In 2022, Andrea spent three weeks in Tanzania as a Fulbright Hays scholar. She went there to teach, but she ended up leaving a piece of her heart behind. Since then, not a day goes by that she doesn't talk about the vibrant culture and communities, the brilliant students, and the incredible librarians there.
Now, to celebrate her 50th birthday, she is bringing Scott back to this special place to share the magic she's described every day since she returned. Together, they are taking on the ultimate challenge: Summiting Mount Kilimanjaro. Scott and Andrea aren’t just climbing for the summit; they are raising funds for Tanzania Development Support (TDS), where Andrea proudly serves as a board member.
While Andrea's personal focus has been fostering agency through Reading Circles in the library, your donation to the TDS General Fund supports a holistic mission of empowerment that Andrea and Scott both care about deeply:
