Welcome to Kipe Academy's first annual Virtual 5K Run/Walk/Bike. We're so excited you joined us!

Between May 14, 2023 and June 17, 2023, runners, walkers, rollers, and strollers can complete their 5K whenever and wherever they choose. The proceeds from this event will help us get our microschool up and running. We want to be sure the facility and utilities are secured and that the learning space is all set up for families to come tour before school starts in August. The kids deserve a school that will meet their needs!

My name is Tonya Kipe. I am currently a 2nd grade teacher in a public school. When admin, coaches, or the district walk through our team hallway, every teacher should be on the same lesson, reading the same story, about the same time while using a similar task. This is not helping all students. I have one girl that crawls on the floor, makes noises, and flops over her desk during the lessons. She is not doing that to be mean and rude to me. She is communicating that this is too much for her. I should be able to teach her what she needs, so she can feel successful and feel excited about learning.

At Kipe Academy, we plan to help K-5th grade students learn in a performance-based environment, so they can work at their own pace with reading, math, and writing skills. They will also have time in the day to complete project-based tasks that are related to topics that the students are interested in and opportunities to show off their creative abilities. We also will partner with the community, so the students can present their projects to the businesses and have the businesses teach students about their fields. This will build students’ confidence and allow them to feel empowered because they have the skills, time, and the mindset to lead, grow, try new things, and overcome challenges.

So get up and running to help our kiddos be inspired and empowered! After July 1, 2023, all registered participants will receive a medal in the mail.
