Kirk Park DIY Initiative

Support the Local Skate Community giving to the third iteration of the Aggregate Skateboarder organized benefit show! 30+ artists from Syracuse and beyond come together to display unique Art on classic skateboard decks. All proceeds from this event will go to support the purchase of building materials to help build skate features at Kirk Park DIY skatepark. Kirkpark DIY Initiative will be the next community driven living breathing creative space located right in the heart of Syracuse’s Southside, this space has all the features, water fountains, pool, community center, and additional sports facilities. This location will serve to bring youth of all ages together with elder skateboards to create a new vibrant space.

Initially set up as three sets of three of tennis courts totalling nine that were rarely used as intended, in 2024 the Parks and Recreation team with support from common counselors reached out to the skateboard community to see if we would have interest in using the courts for its perfectly flat and smooth grounds. In partnership with the Everson Museum of Art a 16 foot halfpipe build for the “Dead End” exhibition was donated to the initiative, the city will be refurbishing the surface for outdoor use and the first of many features will be installed this spring. Throughout 2026 the skateboarding community will meet to discuss and help design what will come next for this space..

It is our hope that the space will never be fully completed as it is a living organism constantly changing and developing. With your support this Do It Yourself space can continue to grow and be shaped by the skateboarding community for years to come. This space has the potential to become a destination drawing enthusiastic riders from across the country. Your support will go towards purchasing cement, renting equipment, and critical pizza for the volunteer muscles used to build!

This is just the beginning of the fundraising for our Syracuse Skate Community!
