Mainspring Narrative Films is in the final stretch of completing Curating Modernism, a documentary exploring the challenges and importance of preserving 20th-century modern architecture in the United States. We need to raise $30,000 to finish production, and we’re asking for your support.

Why This Film Matters

Modernist architecture is disappearing. While historic preservation efforts often focus on 18th- and 19th-century buildings, modernist structures—many of which are modest in scale—are frequently overlooked. As a result, countless historically significant buildings have been demolished for redevelopment or altered beyond recognition. Curating Modernism examines why these structures deserve to be saved and how preservation can be balanced with modern needs.
