Call for Artist Submissions: Open to Current & Formerly Funded LCU Scholars!

To mark the LCU Fund's 165 years of opening doors for women, we are inviting you to participate in an online auction of original artworks. Our goal is to highlight the phenomenal talent of current and formerly funded LCU Scholar - Artists while raising funds to advance our mission of clearing the path for women in need to complete college. With that in mind, proceeds from all pieces sold will be shared 70/ 30 between the artist and the LCU Fund. All artworks will have a starting bid of $300.

Works can be 2D paintings, photographs or 3D sculpture

There is no minimum or maximum size of the pieces you wish to submit. However, please keep in mind that Artists will negotiate pick-up and / or shipping arrangements directly with the Buyer, including applicable transfer costs.

We are looking for your best works that highlight your unique talents and ask that submissions be pieces created in the past 3 years. Works must be of your own creation and any pieces containing appropriated content must be transformational or credit the original Artist.

All submissions will be approved by the LCU Fund in order to represent the diversity of work produced by our scholars.

KEY DATES

Deadline for submissions: Friday, September 15, 2023 @ Midnight
Notification of accepted work: Friday, September 22, 2023
VIP auction preview: Friday, September 29 - Friday, October 6, 2023
Auction is live to the public: Saturday, October 7, 2023 - Friday, October 20, 2023
Disbursement of auction proceeds: On or before November 3, 2023 (Venmo or Zelle)

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS

Artists may submit up to three pieces for consideration. Please send a high resolution jpg image of your piece(s) to lcufundevents@gmail.com by midnight Friday, September 15, 2023 and include the following:

Artist’s full name
Artist’s email address
Links to online portfolio and social media pages
Brief bio (2100 word limit) - be sure to name the school you attended while a recipient of an LCU housing grant
Artwork title, medium, and size
Estimated market value for your work as if you were selling it at a regular gallery showing

By submitting work, you accept the following:

Disbursement of the Artist’s portion of sales proceeds will occur on or before November 3, 2023. Artist expressly agrees to allow the LCU Fund to photograph and reasonably use a limited number of images of Artist’s artwork for Auction promotions. All images of artwork and art originals shall remain solely and absolutely the property of the original Artist until such time as the original artwork is purchased or Artist otherwise transfers ownership by trade, financial transaction or by written agreement signed by the original Artist.
