About The L.I.V.E. Outreach

The L.I.V.E. Outreach was founded in July 2014 by Malika Williams. What began as a vision to provide essential life skills to young women transitioning from foster care into independence quickly grew into a broader mission to support youth facing similar challenges.

Today, The L.I.V.E. Outreach serves youth ages 12–17 by providing mentorship and programming focused on financial literacy, storytelling, healthy eating, life skills, and personal development. Malika understands the importance of these resources firsthand. As a teen mom who grew up in foster care, the life skills she learned played a critical role in shaping her journey into adulthood. The lack of accessible programs like these is what inspired her to create The L.I.V.E. Outreach.

The Mobile Mentoring Hub

To reach even more youth and families, we are developing a Mobile Mentoring Hub that will travel throughout Metro Detroit. Many families face barriers such as limited transportation, which prevents youth from accessing enrichment programs and resources.

The Mobile Mentoring Hub will bring mentorship, learning opportunities, and essential resources directly into neighborhoods. Through this initiative, families will have access to seasonal programming, free books, fresh fruit, hygiene items, and engaging activities that support youth development.

Why We Need Your Support

We are currently working to renovate and convert a bus into our Mobile Mentoring Hub, ensuring it is safe, functional, and ready to serve the community. This project will allow us to reach hundreds of families who may otherwise lack access to supportive programs.

To make this vision a reality, we are seeking support from communities across the globe.

Volunteer Mechanics
We are also seeking skilled mechanics who may be willing to volunteer their time and expertise to help with the technical aspects of restoring and preparing the vehicle.
