Story

Together with our Co-Presenters, AAPI Montclair invites you to kick off the 2023 Lunar New Year with a day of festivities at the Montclair Art Museum. Lunar New Year is a time of hope where family, friends, and neighbors come together to rejoice in new beginnings as we look ahead to a peaceful and prosperous year. Cheer on lion dancers and enjoy live performances from local artists and students from our local schools. March in the dragon parade or try your hand at one of our family friendly crafts. Sample a variety of scrumptious eats and browse specialty merchandise from local vendors. Your ticket also gives you full access to the beautiful galleries inside the Montclair Art Museum.

This event is proudly presented in partnership with Fort Lee Chinese Americans, Glen Ridge Diversity and Inclusion Association, Korean United Presbyterian Church of NJ, Professional Filipino American Youth, United Asian Voices of West OrangeVietnamese Boat People, and the Montclair Art Museum.

Following our core value of inclusion, we have set general admission at a suggested donation of $7 each (fee waivers available) and $25 for families (limit to 5 attendees per family). Children under the age of 5 are admitted free. This event is free to MAM members; please reserve your tickets through the "Tickets & Donate" button.

AAPI Montclair is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer-led organization. To help make this and future events accessible to all, we welcome any additional contributions. All donations go toward providing accessible community programs and events. Come celebrate the Lunar New Year with us!

SAFETY PROTOCOLS

A note on safety (updated 1/25): Now more than ever, we are looking forward to celebrating Lunar New Year safely with everyone. We have been in close contact with local and state authorities following this week's tragic events in California. They have assured us that there are no known threats in New Jersey at this time and they continue to monitor the situation closely. Out of an abundance of caution, there will be a modest law enforcement presence at Saturday's celebration to help ensure our event's safety. Thank you and please feel free to reach out to [email protected] with any concerns.
