Special Olympics Athletes from the Lake Travis Team need your help!

Our athletes have been training hard and had planned to utilize their bicycles for competition in the 2022 Special Olympics Texas Winter Games. These bicycles were highly adapted for our athletes to compete and do their best at our Winter Games. Unfortunately, the trailer containing the bikes was stolen the night before the Winter Games from Lake Travis ISD property. Thanks to the “Hays Heroes” Special Olympics team and volunteers, our athletes were able to compete with borrowed bikes the Hays Heroes team delivered from more than an hour away in the early morning hours. We are devastated our equipment was stolen, and so grateful to the Hays Heroes delegation for all their support- the kindness they showed exemplified the true spirit of these games.

Please help the Lake Travis Team by donating to this fundraising campaign. All proceeds will go towards new adapted bicycle equipment for our athletes and replacing the trailer which held these special bikes. Any funds raised over the replacement cost of the bikes and trailer will be donated to next years Winter State Games. Additionally, should the bikes and/or trailer be recovered, all funds will be donated to next years Winter State Games. Thank you for helping bring smiles back to these amazing athletes who really shined at this years games even under the most difficult of circumstances!
