At Lark & Owl Booksellers we know you love having an indie bookstore in your community and that’s the work we show up to do every day. We welcome everyone.

We want to be here for the long haul so we can continue to sell banned books, crush the patriarchy and serve YOU—our community. To do that we need your help. At this point we feel we are part of the resistance and we are calling all Rebel Alliance supporters to join us.

We need to fully fund this giving campaign because we are still recovering from the intense construction we’ve dealt with for a year and we need some boosting up to put more of the books you love on our shelves.

We took out a large loan last year to raise our inventory levels, do some serious advertising, including a billboard on I-35, and revamp our website. Those funds ended up helping us keep the doors open when our streets, sidewalks and parking lots were blocked off. It was fortunate we had that money or we probably wouldn’t have made it. Now, we need more inventory to make sure our sales are on the rise as we continue to pay off that loan.

It is our great honor to be YOUR local indie bookstore, to share experiences with you from laughter to tears through conversations around books. We have endeavored to be a meeting place, a second home and a welcome haven for EVERYONE in our community. We have done this through countless book club discussions, author events, dance parties, trivia nights, non-profit fundraisers and reading challenges (just to name a few). Our staff is dedicated to continuing this work, but we need more resources to be sustainable.
