As I sat with her, metaphorically speaking, on her ledge with funding for her business drying up, creditors stacking up and ending her life seeming a good solution to her problems, I realized female founders need far more support than simply money.

That's when Faith-filled Founders, a 501c(3) company, was born. As I prayed for wisdom, Scripture pierced me:

If the Lord does not build the house, in vain do its builders labor;

If the Lord does not watch over the city, in vain does the watchman keep vigil.

In vain is your earlier rising, you going later to rest, you who toil for the bread you eat: when He pours gifts on his beloved while they slumber.

I realized how often in my life I had labored in vain, thinking I could do something of my own power by working harder. Don't labor in vain. Prayer is how God builds your house. He has the blueprint.
