Story
Our Mission: To bring the voice of Black Artists and underrepresented communities in Los Angeles to the performing arts stage.
For too long, improvisational theatre and comedy have ignored people of color and other underrepresented voices. So we started The Ledge Theatre.
We officially held our first performance on January 19, 2022--Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. To date, we've hosted over 100 performers on our stage, including Marsha Warfield, Frances Callier, and Angela Shelton.
Having been itinerant for our first year, it looks like we finally found a home of our own. Now we need your help to build it out and launch the new permanent home for The Ledge Theatre.
Our venue will allow us to build a steady audience for the work we produce, and provide classroom space for us to host community classes for students of all ages who want to learn the art of improvisation and other comedic and dramatic art forms.
We were so proud of our founder, Shaun Landry when she was chosen to pitch supporting The Ledge for Black Girl Ventures. While we have a $3M goal to support us in all of 2023 (hello, any angels out there?), this campaign kickstarts us in the right direction.
We are building momentum, and invite you to join us in supporting our growth in 2023! Thank you for your generosity. Join us on The Ledge and take the leap of faith and joy in the arts with us.
