Lemurs are among the most highly trafficked primates in the U.S. and worldwide — sold both legally and illegally into the exotic pet trade, entertainment venues, and substandard attractions. Every year, thousands are neglected, isolated, or suffering without proper care.

Rescued lemurs finally find safety at the Wild Hearts Lemur Sanctuary in Jacksonville, Florida. They receive physical and behavioral rehabilitation, professional caregivers, expert veterinary attention, nutritious food, enriched indoor-outdoor habitats, and essential lemur companionship.

Per Lemur Annual Care Expenses: $2600

$1000 for professional caregiver salaries
$700 for habitat maintenance and repairs
$500 for veterinary care
$340 for fresh produce and primate chow
$60 for enrichment and supplies

We cannot do this important work alone. As a nonprofit sanctuary, we rely entirely on donations to provide lifelong care for these incredible animals. That's where Lemur Teams come in. You can join forces with other sponsors to cover the annual care expenses of the lemur of your choice. This strategy turns even small donations into BIG impact for lemur welfare. Please consider joining the team for one of the Wild Hearts residents! No donation is too small.

Together, we can protect lemurs in human care and inspire respect for all wildlife.

Every lemur deserves to live wild at heart!
