Rolando “Rene” Peña, husband, brother, father, grandfather was a wonderful man who has transitioned to heaven. Everyone that knew him loved him. At this time the family is in need of help with the final expenses and some other expenses which will occur due to the loss of his income to the family.

As many of you know Michelle nearly lost her life to COVID19 and she has many lingering health issues. She will need all of us to give her continued support as she grieves the loss of her husband of 40 years.

Obituary:

Rolando “Rene” Peña died December 30, 2025. He was born on September 5, 1964 in Harlingen, Texas. He was a member of Believer’s Fellowship. He enjoyed fishing for speck, listening to country music, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Mr. Peña was a well-known concrete specialist.

Mr. Peña was preceded in death by his Grandma Lala; Grandpa Benito; Grandma Martha; Grandpa Chewy; mother, Maria Ochoa Vasquez; father, Jose Benito Peña; and a host of friends and cousins.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Michelle Wade-Peña; sons, Rolando Ryan Peña, Eric Andrew Peña, and Jesse Daniel Peña (Ashley); daughter, Maria Rachelle Long (Julian); twelve grandchildren; brothers, Thomas Peña, “Ronnie” Peña, and Michael Peña; sisters, Desiree Mallett (Ryan) and Layla Peña; and a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Buxton Okeechobee Funeral Home.
