Distance: Up to 3 miles

Location: Lower Field Parking Lot, 359 Co Rd 42, Grahamsville, NY 12740.

We’ll walk through the primitive campsites, picking up litter and debris left behind by visitors while discussing Leave No Trace principles and tips for responsible camping and hiking. Along the way, we’ll also talk about the changes Blue Hole has experienced over the past few years and the impacts increased visitation has had on the land. If time allows, we’ll make our way over to the main swimming area to continue our cleanup efforts.

Participants should come prepared with water, snacks, sturdy hiking shoes, sunscreen, bug spray, and weather-appropriate clothing, including rain gear. We’ll be walking through brush and areas with a high tick population, so long pants are recommended and participants should perform a thorough tick check after the event.

Cell service is limited in the area and may be unavailable once you’re about 15–20 minutes from the meeting location. Please download your map and directions ahead of time.

Registration is required. Please complete all volunteer forms prior to arrival. A limited number of copies will be available on site. All ages are welcome. Participants under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and those under 18 must have permission.
