Liberty Sanctuary is delighted to participate in Live PC Give PC and we greatly appreciate your support. Liberty is a leading equine nonprofit dedicated to protecting America’s most vulnerable horses and banning the slaughter of our cherished American equines. We rescue equines from the slaughter pipeline and offer comprehensive care, training, and adoption programs. Our national advocacy efforts include launching SAFEACT.org to support the Save America's Forgotten Equines Act currently in Congress. Our work has been featured on ABC News, Fox News, Good Things Utah, Good Day Utah, Salt Lake Tribune, Park Record, NPR, and more. This year has been filled with so much promise at Liberty and we are excited to share a few highlights of the difference you're making with your generosity.

Cared for over 30 rescues at the ranch costing $80K annually in hay alone
Hired a Natural Horsemanship trainer and a Liberty Method trainer
Hosted a horse brain science clinic so we can know truly know how our horses think enabling us to provide better care
Hosted community horsemanship clinics and welcomed Girl Scouts, 4H members & high school students
Organized educational visits to the wild horses on the range
Studied with the Polyvagal Equine Institute
Implemented a slow feeding program with Tarter hay baskets and feeding nets. This mimics a horses natural grazing routine and helps to prevent colic and ulcers
Met with Representative Mike Kennedy about protections for horses in Utah and nationally
Over 10,000 letters were sent to legislators in support of the horse slaughter ban via Liberty's SAFEACT.org
Planning for expanding our equine assisted services offerings

Liberty Sanctuary is a volunteer-based organization and our herd has touched countless hearts along the way, giving volunteers and visitors alike a sense of purpose, a way to give back, and a chance to authentically connect with these majestic animals. This Shadow Herd of horses and donkeys are so resilient even though they were sold out to be slaughtered. They are being educated and progressing at Liberty so they can find their loving forever homes.

Liberty also continues to work on legislation to help ban the export of American equines for slaughter. Please visit SAFEACT.org, the site we launched, to learn more and to lend your voice. Over 10,000 letters have been sent to legislators from all 50 states since the site launched a year ago. It takes 1 minute to help save thousands of lives!
