While the Department of Education guarantees an education for every child, the government funding our school receives does not enable us to provide the full range of programming and enrichment on which the Locke School prides itself. That’s why the Locke School Parent Teacher Association (PTA) provides supplemental funding to support enhancements such as:

Cool Culture Passes for every 3K, Pre-K, and Kindergarten family, granting unlimited, free access to nearly 90 major cultural institutions such as the American Museum of Natural History, the Children’s Museum of Manhattan, and the Central Park Zoo.
Teacher grants for innovative classroom projects, including the supplies for the 3K, Pre-K, and 1st grade bug projects.
Engaging field trips, including Ellis Island, the National Jazz Museum, Children’s Museum of Manhattan, Museum of the City of New York, the Urban Rangers’ Natural Classroom, and Jazz at Lincoln Center.
Fall Fest, Spring Fair, and many other fun community-building special events
Student emergency hygiene reserve of toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, etc.
All graduations (3K, Pre-K, K, and 5th) as well as the 5th grade capstone celebration
Staff appreciation events throughout the year including a “Welcome Back” breakfast and an outstanding Teacher Appreciation Week

To ensure we can continue to offer the above and more, the Locke School PTA has set a goal of raising $30,000 between now and the end of the year. To that end, we have exciting news to share:

Huge Fun: We have put together an incredibly fun set of prizes, incentives, and competitions to help “put the fun back in fundraising” for students, families, and staff! Check them out HERE!
Big Match: A small group of generous lead donors have put forth a $10,000 challenge gift – which means if we raise $10,000, they will match that amount with $10,000 more, which will take us most of the way to our goal!

Now we invite you to help strengthen our school community by supporting our Parent Teacher Association (PTA) through a tax-deductible donation.

Each year, we raise funds in support of the next year’s activities. This means it was the generosity of families last year that enabled our children to enjoy this year’s benefits. We hope you’ll join us in responding to the generosity of the past by “paying it forward” with a contribution this year.

No amount is too small, and every donation makes a meaningful difference both in the lives of our children and in helping us reach our goal. We understand that not every family may be in a position to contribute financially at this time, and we want to stress that your support in any form—through time, ideas, or simply spreading the word—is just as valuable and appreciated!
