Sargent & Lundy’s annual "Lundy Legends" charity golf outing, scheduled for September 6, is more than a day of fun and friendly competition. It reflects the company’s commitment to making a meaningful impact in the communities where they live and work. This year, Sargent & Lundy has selected Kid Spark Education as a beneficiary of the fundraiser.

About Kid Spark Education

Kid Spark Education is a national 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is simple:
To help all children learn and love STEM.

Kid Spark works with schools and informal education providers across the country to make high-quality STEM education accessible to all students, beginning in the earliest grades. Through its programs, Kid Spark empowers educators and inspires students to become creative thinkers, confident builders, and lifelong problem-solvers.

Why Early STEM Education Changes Everything

STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. STEM education teaches students how these subjects connect and apply to the real world—how things work, how to solve problems, and how to turn ideas into reality.

Early exposure matters. By third grade, one in three students has already decided that STEM isn't for them. But when children engage with STEM early, they begin to see themselves as capable thinkers, problem-solvers, and inventors. Early STEM learning builds confidence, strengthens curiosity, fosters creativity, and supports academic growth across all subjects. It helps kids see themselves not just as learners, but as contributors with the power to shape the world around them.

What’s Included in a Kid Spark STEM Program?

With your support, select school(s) will receive everything needed to implement a complete Kid Spark STEM Program. This includes hands-on STEM materials for students, a ready-to-use curriculum, and professional learning that equips educators to lead engaging instruction with confidence.

Students explore a wide range of topics including mechanical and structural engineering, applied mathematics, rapid prototyping and 3D printing, coding and robotics, renewable energy, and more!

Kid Spark programs can be used during the school day or in after-school settings, and are designed to grow with students over time. All curriculum is aligned to national education standards and provides a strong foundation for delivering high-quality STEM instruction.
