The fashion industry is responsible for 3% of global greenhouse gas emissions (McKinsey) and generates 92 million tons of textile waste, annually (UN Habitat). Sustainable Fashion Week Chicago (SFW Chicago) provides programming to tackle the environmental impact of the industry and champions the shift needed to better support people and the planet.

How? SFW Chicago provides year-round educational and community-oriented programming bringing people, neighborhoods, and industries together to reimagine fashion in Chicago and Illinois. The 10 day, twice a year flagship events (Sustainable Fashion Week) teaches community members about the industry's impact — growing textile waste, sustainable fashion consumption, etc. — while providing solutions and opportunities for people to become changemakers.

The flagship event offers hands-on workshops, panels, fashion shows, cross-industry events, clothing swaps, and more. To build on the progress of the flagship events, monthly educational events are hosted both in-person and virtually.

SFW Chicago is an outlet for designers, scientists, advocates, professionals, eco-enthusiasts, students, and civilians alike. Together, we can make change happen.
