Aurora Theatre Company has built our reputation on being the Bay Area’s most intimate theatrical experience. By focusing on rich language, impactful stories, and the precision of the actor’s craft, we’re able to offer our audiences opportunities for deep reflection, new discoveries, and moments of sheer delight. It has been our honor to serve as storytellers to our community for more than thirty years.

But just as a show begins, long before the lights come up and the first word is spoken, our work extends far beyond the boundaries of the stage. The Originate+Generate program helps support local playwrights as they develop their vision, the Community Partners program nurtures mutually beneficial relationships with aligned local organizations, and educational outreach programs like our student matinees cultivate the next generation of audiences.

As a non-profit theatre, it’s no secret that ticket sales only cover a small portion of what it costs to produce our season.
