Montclair Ambulance Unit was founded in 1953 as an independent 501 (c)(3) nonprofit emergency medical service. Unlike fire and police departments, EMS is not an essential service in New Jersey. This means that municipalities are not required to provide or fund emergency medical services.

In fact, we rely on contributions like yours for about a quarter of our annual operating budget. Our 65+ career emergency medical technicians staff our ambulances around the clock in Montclair, 365 days per year. We also provide ambulance service in Cedar Grove from 6am to 6pm daily.

We welcome members of the community to reach out! We would love to meet you in person and show you our historic 1906 station house. We'd love to plan an event together or teach you how to provide CPR or first aid.
