Our support group attendees have asked for social events like game nights, movie nights, alcohol and substance free, dinner gatherings and potlucks.

We need some extra funding to cover upcoming expenses. We used to have non-support group gatherings before the pandemic - and it's time to bring them back! No pressure, no cost social events are an awesome and vital way to build trans community in Montgomery County.

Our goal is to keep these events FREE for all who attend, but we can't do that without your help.

Here is a bit more about what your gift will enable Maryland Trans*Unity to do:

Secure and fund space rental in a public transportation friendly, street/garage parking friendly, and fully ADA accessible location
Purchase board and card games as needed
Rent relevant films, rent a projector and screen for a full movie effect, and/or purchase BlueRays or DVDs when available for reuse
Provide food and non-alcoholic drinks
Purchase disposable dinnerware when real dishes and untensils are not available
Compensate folks able to help with set up and clean up
Market events for maximum attendance and community buiding opportunities
Enable us to plan ahead and keep events happening regularly in the coming weeks, months, and years
Keep Events FREE of charge for all who attend

Our expenses are generally minimal, as is our revenue. Hosting social events will bump up our costs significantly. We rely solely on trans-specific microgrants and small donations from our support group attendees, community, and cisgender co-conspirators like you.
