2026 Motherhood Healing Festival!

OUR STORY

In April 2025, the Motherhood Healing Festival made history in Georgia. During Black Maternal Health Week, we gathered 70+ pregnant women and mothers and 30+ birthworkers, doulas, and healers for a powerful day of healing, workshops, storytelling, and community care.

The Motherhood Healing Festival is a community wellness experience held each spring that brings together pregnant people, new parents, families, and birthworkers for education, care, and connection. While the festival itself is a powerful moment of collective healing, it is not the end goal. It is the culmination of a year-round, rural maternal health initiative designed to increase access to practical resources, culturally grounded education, and consistent community support.

The festival brings together doulas, midwives, practitioners, educators, organizations, and families for a full day of:

Maternal health workshops and panels
Healing circles and cultural ceremony
Live performances and storytelling
Family-centered activities
Wellness and resource activations
Every element is designed with care, ensuring families leave more resourced, and feeling seen, supported, and strengthened.

To support this work, we established the Motherhood Healing Festival (MHF) Fund. This fund exists to ensure families are not only able to attend the festival, but are supported before and after it in meaningful, tangible ways. Proceeds raised through sponsorships and donations directly sustain our programming and community care efforts throughout the year.

The Motherhood Healing Festival is produced by Earthside with Evonna Birth Services.

With your support we aim to be fully funded by March 20th, 2026.

OUR PRIORITIES

Families in rural and under-resourced communities often face barriers to consistent prenatal and postpartum care, access to childbirth education, and basic necessities during early parenthood. Transportation challenges, limited provider options, food insecurity, and lack of culturally responsive care all contribute to poorer pregnancy and postpartum outcomes.

The Motherhood Healing Festival Fund was created to address these gaps by:

Removing financial barriers to participation in maternal health programming
Providing practical support families can immediately use
Creating continuity of care and education throughout the year
Building a sustainable, community-based support network for parents and birthworkers

Rather than a one-time event, the fund supports an ecosystem of care that grows stronger each year.

OUR PROGRAMS

The Motherhood Healing Festival
Held for the second year in a row, the Motherhood Healing Festival is a family friendly gathering offering childbirth education, wellness experiences, and resource sharing. It centers Black, Indigenous, and rural pregnant and postpartum families, birthworkers, and practitioners while remaining welcoming to all. The festival serves as the annual culmination of our year-round work, bringing families together to connect, reflect, and celebrate progress in maternal health and community care.

Quarterly Community Care Packages
Through the Motherhood Healing Festival Fund, we provide quarterly perinatal and postpartum care packages to families in need in Spalding County since 2025. Packages may include practical essentials such as blood pressure monitors, newborn items, breastfeeding education, WIC and local resource information, and grocery or restaurant gift cards to support nourishment during postpartum recovery. These offerings are designed to meet real needs in real time.

Childbirth Education Gatherings
We host quarterly childbirth education gatherings throughout the year since 2021 to support families during pregnancy and early postpartum. These sessions focus on informed decision-making, body awareness, and preparation for birth and life after, using accessible, culturally grounded language.

Motherhood Moon Circles
Motherhood Moon Circles are quarterly spiritual gatherings started in 2021 that offer space for connection, reflection, and emotional support for pregnant and postpartum parents. These circles foster shared wisdom, peer support, and stress reduction, helping families feel held and less alone.

WHAT THE FUNDS WILL BE USED FOR

Your donation helps make the Motherhood Healing Festival possible and sustains maternal health support beyond a single day.

Funds raised first cover the essential costs of producing a safe, accessible, family-friendly festival in rural Georgia. This includes the venue, meals, accessibility needs, staffing, sound, and logistics required to bring families, birthworkers, and community partners together.

Once festival expenses are covered, remaining funds support the Motherhood Healing Festival Fund, which provides sponsored festival passes, prenatal and postpartum care packages, transportation assistance, and ongoing community care for mothers and families throughout the year.

Your support helps build a connected, sustainable network of care that improves pregnancy and postpartum outcomes and ensures families continue receiving resources long after the festival ends.
