As part of our mission to equip and mobilize the community, Mosaic Hope wants to develop a Rutherford County TBRI® Collaborative for children made up of organizations who receive additional training and resources as they implement TBRI® and who work together to align policy and practice across the child welfare system.

We want to equip a collective of Rutherford County agencies, nonprofits, congregations, school districts, juvenile justice professionals and others who come into contact with youth in need, with tools and techniques that bring healing and hope vulnerable children. To do this, we want to send professionals, who are already serving Rutherford County, to attend TBRI® Practitioner Training. This will not only further equip professionals in our area to work with children and families impacted by foster care, but this will help Mosaic Hope serve children, families and professionals in foster care.

Currently, we have three TBRI® practitioners. This year we led seven Intro/Overview trainings, totaling over 250 participants. Those attending these trainings included teachers, principals, counselors, daycare workers, foster parents, kinship caregivers, law enforcement, and others. Our Intro/Overview is a three-hour training that simply gives a broad overview of TBRI® and its principles.

In addition to these trainings, we did more extensive training with the Mt. Vernon-Ruth Elementary, the Clara Allen Center and with Flourishing Lives Counseling Center.

We want to provide additional trainings, including the full 24 hour TBRI® Caregiver/Professional training, however we need more trainers. In 2025, the Karyn Purvis Child Development Institute is bringing the TBRI® Practitioner Training to Charlotte, NC. We are hoping to send six people to be trained as practitioners. Having additional TBRI® Practitioners will specifically allow us to do more in our endeavor to equip and mobilize through trainings for professionals and caretakers; and to provide continued support through trainings, support groups and coaching for caretakers.

By giving to this project you are not only helping us equip these individuals with a training they can use in their own sector of our community, but you will also help Mosaic Hope train more people who will use TBRI with countless children and individuals. It creates a true "ripple effect"!
