As the Founder and CEO of Mentoring Mentors Inc. I'm always seeking opportunities to collaborate to improve our work. Again, our mission is to create the next generation of community leaders. We support youth through "The Intergeneration Near-to-Peer Model" and have three focus areas:
-
Exposure
-
Personal, Social, and Emotional Development
-
Leadership Development
My passion for this work and community is rooted in my childhood experiences. Growing up I strongly desired to set an example for my cousins, emphasizing the rewards of hard work. At 14, I started tutoring 1st and 2nd graders despite having a learning disability.
That experience saved my life. I've been working with youth since. I'm passionate because I was labeled, and labels should define no one; everyone should be allowed to shape their outcomes with support, exposure, and opportunities.
My mission is to help youth realize their dreams, instill accountability, and provide farther-like support. This commitment is personal because of my struggles and the struggles I continue to see. It's not a job; it's a daily quest to improve opportunities and build resilience.
