Graduation caps are about to fly at John O'Connell High School, and we're gearing up for something special—Mission Promise Neighborhood and Mission Graduates are collaborating once more to run our 11th annual Mission Promise Neighborhood Scholarship Fundraiser!

This Spring, we're rallying together to support college-bound seniors at John O'Connell High School who've shown incredible dedication to their community, overcome financial barriers, and achieved remarkable things despite the odds. This scholarship helps students enter the next stage beyond high school, and eases their transition to higher education with flexible funding for basic needs to support their education. Past recipients have used their award to purchase tickets to relocate closer to their college/university, pay for meals, and purchase laptops and books.

Why does this scholarship matter?
Together, we're not just funding education—we're investing in our community's next generation of leaders, innovators, and changemakers. In a 2024 School Climate Survey that collected responses from middle and high school students at Mission Promise Neighborhood-affiliated schools, college preparedness and financial constraints were identified among their top concerns. Scholarships like this increase our Mission youth's access to higher education, which ultimately builds the foundation for their upward economic mobility.

Here's where it gets EXCITING: A generous donor believes so deeply in our Mission kids that they've pledged $5,000 in matching funds! That means every dollar you give becomes TWO dollars of support. Your $50 becomes $100. Your $250 becomes $500.

Our goal? Raise $10,000 to unlock the full match and send even more students off to college with the resources they need to thrive.
