Last night, the Officer Austin Machitar Memorial in North Clairemont was vandalized and defaced, just days after the park's dedication honoring his life and service.

This memorial stands as a place of reflection, remembrance, and healing for Austin’s family, friends, and fellow officers. It was built through the generosity of our community, who came together to ensure that Austin’s sacrifice would never be forgotten.
