Othello PD is excited to announce our upcoming launch of our BlueBridge Program. BlueBridge™️ is a program facilitated by BlueBridge Alliance, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, that enables police officers to strengthen relationships with the community by enabling them to provide a hand-up to individuals that they encounter, while on patrol, who are struggling or can use an extra boost in a time of need. This might be a single mom who's doing her best to try and make ends meet, but could use a full tank of gas in her car. Or, a low-income senior who needs a new car tire. Perhaps its a domestic violence victim who needs a hotel room for the night because the shelters are already closed for the evening. There are countless ways that BlueBridge programs help to bridge a gap for people in the community who need a helping hand.

With that in mind, BlueBridge Alliance has secured grants to cover OPD's initial startup costs as well as up to $2500 in matching "Seed Funds", meaning every dollar donated on this page is matched dollar-for-dollar up to $2500. Seed funds are the initial funds used by officers in the field to get the program off the ground and moving forward while the program gains momentum and attracts more donors from the community to sustain itself.

BlueBridge programs have been remarkably successful in some of our neighboring communities like Moses Lake and East Wenatchee, improving public safety by addressing short term needs and building solid relationships between officers and community members.
