Local individuals, leaders, businesses, and more than 100 community partners came together to fully fund our capital campaign and build the new Evans Building—without taking on a mortgage. It’s clear that families on the northern Outer Banks value what WEVS provides.

As we turn from building space to strengthening what happens inside it, we’re focused on rebuilding our financial safety net so we can maintain small class sizes, support our teachers, and meet the needs of every student who walks through our doors.

Most importantly, we’re seeing results: WEVS students achieved the highest overall proficiency scores of all 16 elementary and middle schools in Currituck and Dare Counties.
