WHO WE ARE

We are Manumit Me, a grassroots movement led by families directly impacted by unjust incarceration. Our mission is to expose abuse of government power and unjust sentencing practices, and to give a platform to those silenced behind bars.

We’ve launched two urgent petitions:

📄 The Weaponization Petition calls out the misuse of power by prosecutors and the government’s strategic manipulation of charges and language especially the terms “knowing,” “knowingly,” and “knowledge.”
⚖️ The Unjust Sentencing Petition demands accountability for extreme sentencing disparities, like giving decades for first-time, non-violent offenses.

These petitions represent real families, like my own, fighting back against decades-long sentences that destroy communities.

OUR STORY

My father is currently incarcerated under a sentence that doesn't match his actions, thanks to the government’s manipulation of language and the justice system. He’s a father, mentor, and human being not a case file. His voice is featured on our podcast Behind the Wall: Real Stories. Real Voices. Fighting for Justice, where we tell these stories directly.
