Story
The Marin Shakespeare Company believes that the power of theatre can benefit just about anyone, from youth to adults to people with special needs. Theatre skills are life skills – the ability to focus, to work together as a team, to communicate expressively, to be in contact with our emotions, to combine discipline with creative inspiration, to problem-solve individually and as part of a group, to celebrate our victories, and learn from our mistakes.
Marin Shakespeare Company education programs - both in and after school - lead thousands of elementary, middle, and high school students into their hearts, onto the stage, and into the spotlight. We work with public schools and teachers to deliver powerful relevant curriculum that reaches all youth regardless of family income.
The Marin Shakespeare Company moves people – to laughter and tears, to celebrate and protest – through stunning artistic performance of the wisdom, wit, and insight of Shakespeare and other prominent playwrights. We employ a multicultural, multi-talented cast, including actors who have survived incarceration. We're home to the 'Returned Citizens Theatre Troupe' which tells personal and profound stories.
