Keep Silas Serving

Just four months into his year of service as our AmeriCorps VISTA, Silas was abruptly let go due to unimagined federal funding cuts. For the last four months, Silas has been diving into the research and creation for our new Kids & Family Pantry in Columbia Falls and providing support to the Weekend Backpack Program. His sudden absence creates a significant void in our capacity to serve our community.

Support Double SNAP Dollars

We have fantastic news! Thanks to the incredible advocacy of our community, our previously threatened grant has been restored, securing funding through July 2025. Building on this momentum, we are continuing our campaign to raise funds for the remainder of the market season. Doing so is vital because DSD operates at seven farmers markets across Northwest Montana, providing crucial access to fresh, local food for families and individuals in your community. Your continued support will ensure this funding lasts the entire market season and strengthens nutrition security for our SNAP recipients.

In 2024, 54 different sellers at the Kalispell Farmers Market made a total of $17,800 through these programs. This funds also support farmers directly by allowing all our community to afford healthy, local food.
