The mission of Worcester RISE for Health is to build and provide effective, culturally-sensitive, trauma-informed and community-grounded healthcare interventions that eliminate barriers and help refugees and immigrants achieve health equity and self-sufficiency through innovation, co-location, capacity-building and collaboration.

Currently RISE is serving approximately 500 individuals in Worcester and surrounding towns who are staying in hotel-shelters with minimal means to access and navigate health care. Our Community Health Workers (CHWs) speak Haitian-Creole, French, Spanish and English and assist new arrivals in navigating health insurance, scheduling healthcare appointments and coordinating transportation. Our healthcare team provides medical triage and identify those with urgent medical needs such as pregnancies, chronic diseases (hypertension, diabetes, etc) and babies behind on vaccines and developmental evaluations.

In just 2 months since our CHWs started we assisted in coordinating close to 100 appointments and provided over 50 taxi rides to health appointments. In order for us to continue doing this critical work we need your support!

Please donate to give us funds to continue providing transportation, care coordination as well as obtain some basic supplies like glucometers, blood pressure cuffs, pregnancy tests, etc to keep new arrivals safe while minimizing unnecessary burden on the health system.
