Every mile matters. Every step supports a survivor.

Join Hanover Safe Place this April for Miles for Survivors, a month-long movement to raise awareness and funds for survivors of sexual violence in our community. In honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, we’re calling on advocates, allies, families, and friends to step up—literally.

👟 How it works:

Register as an individual or team (here on GiveButter!)
Pledge a number of miles to walk, run, or move during April (ex. 1 mile, 5, 25, 50, 100 miles)
Fundraise $1 (or more!) per mile from friends, coworkers, or family - or a flat donation
Track your progress on your own and share your impact on social media using #MilesForSurvivorsHSP

All funds raised directly support Hanover Safe Place’s free and confidential services, including:

24/7 crisis response
Counseling and advocacy
Prevention and education programming
Resources for survivors of sexual violence in Hanover County

What Your Miles Support

$25 = Transportation for a survivor to a forensic exam
$50 = One trauma counseling session
$100 = Supports 24/7 crisis response
$250 = Legal advocacy in court
