What is Moonbeams for Sweet Dreams?

This cherished tradition started in 2017 by Corewell Health Children’s in Southeast Michigan nurses and child life specialists as a way of helping our youngest and bravest patients feel connected to their community during the holiday season.

Each December, community members from across Southeast Michigan visit Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital in Royal Oak at approximately 8 pm to shine flashlights to remind pediatric patients they aren’t alone and wish them sweet dreams.

Before and during the event, the JeepⓇ Babes, Sinister Jeeps, Jeepers Anonymous MI, and Midwest Jeep Junkies are raising funds in support of Wish Upon a Teen's Design My Room program. Wish Upon a Teen's premier program Design My Room is all about making long-term hospital stays more comfortable for teenagers! For only $250, they purchase brand new bedding, wall décor, pajamas, robe, slippers, picture frames, sports memorabilia, arts-and-crafts project kits and more age-appropriate items that match the teen’s tastes and personality. Making over a plain hospital room has proven to boost a teen’s spirits, instill a sense of well-being, and empower them during their long stay.
