At Velo Kids, our mission is simple: get all kids on bikes. We teach bike skills, safety, and trail stewardship—empowering kids to move more, sit less, and build lifelong healthy habits. Our vision is a lakeshore community full of happy, healthy, and confident kids.

We’re excited to bring Velo Kids programming to the Ice Park, utilizing the space provided by the City of Holland as a hub for biking in the spring, summer, and fall. The Velo Kids Wheelhouse will expand our reach, fulling our mission—giving kids more opportunities to ride, connect, and embrace the outdoors. All funds raised for the Wheelhouse will go directly toward Velo Kids equipment and programming. Any bikes, gear, or materials purchased will remain Velo Kids property, ensuring they continue to serve kids for years to come.

Why now? Because the need is real. In 2025, our 62 coaches biked with more than 3,500 kids—many riding trails for the first time, and more than 400 without bikes of their own. Without spaces like the Wheelhouse, those kids would never get the chance to ride.

The Wheelhouse Gives Us:

A central, accessible home for our programs in the heart of the city.
A Bike Library where kids who don’t own a bike can check one out and ride.
A place for Urban Bike Camps, Clubs, expanding our reach to kids and families who otherwise couldn’t participate, Learn to Bike Programing and Balance Buddies.
A hub that connects directly to the future downtown bike park across the bridge, ensuring every child, teen, and adult has safe, dedicated places to ride.
