Ms. P’s Phase 2, a newly established nonprofit rooted in over a decade of early childhood education experience. Founded in January 2025 by me, Paulette Warren, this initiative evolved from my in-home daycare into a full-scale community hub serving underserved families in Detroit’s 48235 zip code.

Our mission is to empower youth and adults by enhancing academic performance, building self-esteem, and reducing high-risk behaviors. Our vision is to foster resilient, lifelong learners supported through mentorship, education, and opportunity.

What began as Saturday tutoring for siblings of daycare children has become a grassroots movement offering GED prep, CNA and CDL training, literacy programs, mentorship, a food pantry, and youth sports. In less than a year, we’ve witnessed the hunger for change with parents eager to learn, teens seeking direction, and children beginning to thrive.

To meet this growing demand, we are launching a $200,000 capital campaign to acquire and renovate a facility ($150,000 purchase + $50,000 renovations) in the 48235 zip code. This space will house our tutoring, training, food distribution, and youth engagement efforts. The need is urgent as our community is 98% minority, has a 53.3% labor force participation rate, a 29.7% poverty rate, and child poverty over 53%.
